Firefox 3 – Quick Review
I just downloaded firefox 3 ( If you have not downloaded it yet, go, download it first ) and installed it. The upgradation task from firefox 2 to firefox 3 went smoothly. However, the installer did disabled all my extensions for not being compatible with Firefox 3 release and firebug 1.5 is one among them. Well, some of the nice feature you can find are as,
1) Smart Address locater:
You start typing web address and FF3 will show up all the previously browsed site with the same keywords.
2) Recently added bookmarks :
Now you can easily find recently bookmarked site at one place. You do not have to remember where you have saved the bookmark 5 mins ago.
3) Nice icon set.
4) Improved Error Messages :
I tried visiting spreadfirefox after downloading FF3. Looks like the whole world is trying to download FF3 today! Go on guys! create records!
Well, I liked the error messages. They are pretty helpful.
FF3 has also improved upon download manager, password saving mechanism ( Remember the alert box asking to remember the password! The alert box is history now. Instead FF3 shows up a nice streamlined bar for the same )
However I was disappointed a bit while installing FF3. Installer disabled all my extensions including firebug 1.5.
Not sure whether mozilla has a updated firebug extensions for FF3. I’ll have to check it later.

Hi Kunal,
There have been so many rants about Firefox’s new feature. Why again ???
You should write something that’s much original.
Sorry for being the spoilsport. I love FF3 too..

Well, FF3 didn’t disappoint me, about the plugins. Though FF3 put off the non-compatible versions of the plugins, a quick search, restored all of them with compatible version. Firebug, Web Developer, Padma and more. I am simply loving FF3!
Hey Jithin,
Thanks for stopping by.
While installing, I did not try doing quick search for plugins. Later, I could find all the updates and now running with all plugins I needed.
FF3 is awesome! BTW Did you notice live bookmarks feature ?
Live bookmarks was there in FF2 as well, IIRC. Most of the plugins were disabled cuz the version checker was killing them. You can get the Nightly Tester Addon which disables version checking.
Nice to see FF support catchin’ up.
